Fue un director de orquesta, compositor y pianista cuyo,
y que es considerado una importante figura vinculado a la música de tango.
Desde 1935 hasta 1938 se desempeñó como pianista de la orquesta de tango de D´Arienzo.
En 1938 fundó su propia orquesta típica.
Su estilo de ejecución tendió a favorecer al bailarín con un ritmo nervioso y hasta por momentos monótono. Como compositor se le recuerda especialmente como autor de la música del tango Indiferencia y de la milonga Campo afuera con versos de Homero Manzi.

Tanguetto cuanto siento cuando no llego hasta aqui y me pierdo tantas de tus cosas de tango que nada más llegar recupero, bialo con esta melodía muchas veces.
Hace muy poquito leía en Tango y cultura popular una revistita que es probable que tu conozcas, la historia de este tango, sus primeras notas como se encontraba en la calle y no disponia de papel, las escribió en una pared, pero era epoca de elecciones y cuando al día siguiente fue al mismo sito sus notas habían sido cubierta por propaganda electoral, empezó a arracar papeles para buscar exactamente donde estaban y un "cana" asi pone en el escrito que lo observaba quiso detenerle, trato por todos los medios de explicarle el motivo y costo de convencer, finalmente lo convenció y quedaron de acuerdo en arrancar papeles ambos pero si no era cierto no lo salvaba ni el gato, cuando en una de esas las notas aparecieron tras el cartel el "cana" no daba crédito a lo que vió y a escuchar la melodía luego.
Ayyyyy me he disparado y seguro que tu ya conocías esta historia...no lo he podido remediar. El tango me puede.
